How To Teep Your home Heated during the cold winter..

Did you know that each house, apartment or townhouse needs to require a specific type of unit to make sure that you are not exhausting the unit? Depending on the size of your house you may need a small 1 ton units or for like a 1,600 sq. ft. unit house you would need 2.5 ton unit and for a single family house of 3,000 sq. ft. you would need two units to run separately controlling different levels.

But then how do you keep the house comfortable when it’s below freezing outside. For the rooms and areas where it’s not used you can always close the vents. For your three level townhouse keep the kitchen and family room vents on and close any vents that you don’t need. Kitchen, bedroom, and family leaves those vents on and any other rooms you don’t tend to sit or sleep in close it. Keep in mind that you would need to keep the area around your thermostat neutral so when the rooms upstairs get cold that the thermostat detects and turns on the heat.

If you have a programmable thermostat you can program it so that when you leave the house in the morning it’s not running as high when the temperatures are lower outside and it turns back on before you get home. If you don’t have a programmable thermostat turn it low during the day and turn it back to your normal when you return.
